 A progressive training and testing program from the American Kennel Club that rewards dogs for good manners and reliable behavior in real‐life situations. It strengthens the bond between dog and handler, and builds a foundation of trust, calm behavior, and useful skills. This is open to all dogs but is only free for program dogs. 

 Puppy raising involves volunteering to care for a young dog for a period of time (often many months to a year or more), teaching basic obedience, socializing them, exposing them to many different environments, attending training or classes, and generally preparing them for advanced training or placement in therapy, service, or visitation roles.
